Congratulations to all those working on the GMO labeling ballot initiative in California on receiving enough signatures to get it on the ballot! If voters approve this initiative and indeed GMO's are required to be labeled in California, that basically means that all food companies wishing to sell in CA will either need to make separate labels just for the state of California, or change all their labels to notify people if they are using genetically modified (poisonous) ingredients. This is a huge step, but it isn't over yet! Now we have to educate people and get them out to vote! Congratulations to all of you who helped gather signatures, future generations, especially our children, will thank you! More information here at www.labelgmos.org
Occupy Monsanto

While on Maui we were asked to sing our now famous anti-GMO, anti-Monsanto anthem "Monsanto (GO AWAY!)" as part of a week long Occupy Maui camp outside the Monsanto headquarters in Kihei. I was amazed to learn that Maui's current highest-valued export is GMO Corn seed which is then brought to the US mainland and bred with organic corn seed and sold to farmers. Of course the US government subsidizes all of this, multiple government officials, including heads of the FDA, are former Monsanto board members, which my explain why the USDA decided to fund the construction of a new district police depart right outside of Monsanto's gates. Wouldn't believe it if I didn't see it in my own eyes. Here's a video by Ian MacKenzie who is producing a video called Occupy Love. To support us on our quest to rid the food system of poison you can download the single here.

Aloha friends~ We have a new album out that I am really excited about. A lot of energy, love and joy went into making this album. Thanks to everyone who helped in whatever way to support it. I hope you enjoy these songs and that they spread love far and wide. I put a lot of strong intention into this album and worked with some of the most incredible beings I've had the pleasure to know throughout the process. Love is always the basis, and though it sometimes takes a little searching to find it within ourselves, it is there with a warm glow ready to shine. I am so grateful to my big human family for always guiding me back to it. While we are here on this Earth may we all let that LOVE shine even more than we thought we could, with the deepest of compassion. Dance to this album in your kitchen and with those you love. Thanks for sharing this amazing planet with me.

GMO Right 2 Know March

Greetings friends!
What an adventure I just finished with the Sustainable Living Roadshow supporting the GMO Right 2 Know March, a mobilization for GMO labeling. GMO food has been covertly put into the US food supply and we are determined to get required labeling on all products containing genetically altered products, in fact president Obama made a very clear campaign promise to label GMO food as a candidate. All of Europe now requires labeling, with many outright banning GMO's completely, here in the US, it is estimated that 80-90% of the food is contaminated with GMO corn, soy, cotton, or canola and this year the FDA approved GMO alfalfa, which for those of you who don't know, organic alfalfa is what many organic dairy farmers feed their cows, this new approval threatens the integrity of organic dairy, as there is virtually no way to stop the interbreeding and spreading of GMO alfalfa once it is released.
About 50 people did the march leaving Brooklyn, NY on Oct 1, through Manhattan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and ending at the White House in Washington, DC. The Human Revolution represented in a variety of ways including MC'ing and performing to welcome the marchers to every major stop, providing our signature Bliss Kits, personal meal kits, educational outreach, and by countless hours of marching and canvasing. It was an amazing experience and we were joined by such luminaries as David Bronner, president of Dr. Bronners Magic Soaps, Josef Wilhelm, president of the German food company Rapunzel and founder of the first two Right 2 Know marches in Europe which were essential in getting the European Union to require labeling. Jeffrey Smith, author of Seeds of Deception joined us for a while, and Eric Neis, former Real World cast member and host of MTV's The Grind brought up the vibes with his amazing Superfood Super Dog Sugar Ray Robinson Cooper the Seed Saver.
All along the march we inspired people to learn more about GMO food, which we were surprised to find that many people knew nothing about. We passed out literature as well as products from our GMO free sponsors all along the route and sleeping ranged all the way from backyards, to campgrounds, to hotels, to the buses. The Non-GMO Project, Capitol Hemp, Dr. Bronners, and the Sustainable Living Roadshow were there to support us all the way.
The March ended with about 50 additional marchers joining us in DC, and by the time we got to the White House we were about 200 strong. A concert and rally was held in Lafayette Square where speakers like Vandana Shiva, Percy Schmeiser, and some of the marches sponsors joined with the music of The Human Revolution and Sara Tone. We received a variety of press coverage including National Public Radio (NPR) as well as German and Chinese news hubs.
Everyone who joined the march was inspired and awakened to the possibility of a world free of GMO food. Some videos from the march are already available online on Athena's Youtube page.
Sustainable Living Roadshow/GMO Right to Know March~

We are very proud to announce that The Human Revolution will be joining the Sustainable Living Roadshow, a biodiesel/veggie bus caravan touring America with a mission to empower individuals and communities to utilize sustainable living methods to lower our human impact and help the Earth heal.http://www.sustainablelivingroadshow.org/
Our first stop with the Roadshow will be in NYC where we will be joining the GMO Right to Know March to demand that our government require labeling of Genetically Modified (poisonous) food. Many people don't even know they are consuming these toxic substances and wouldn't if they did know. Europe has already taken this step due in part to the success of the Right to Know March over there. Join us Sept 30 in NYC as we kickoff the march from New York to Washington DC with a big protest outside The White House on October 16. more info at:

More to come!
