Human and the Other Humans Bio
The Human Revolution is a group of multi-talented musicians who perform original music featuring positive lyrics and body-shakin’ grooves. With a cast of players that reads like an atlas, this multi-cultural group plays songs in a variety of styles and genres. From roots reggae to original rock, Island to country and Latin to bluegrass, the songs transition beautifully from one to another high-lighting the common theme of togetherness and self-awareness.

The leader of the band is Human, a young multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter and traveler from the eastern U.S. He formed the core of the band in 2004 with fellow Human and percussion leader Steve Crowningshield and all purpose multi-instrumentalist Johnny Qwest, both members of the North Coast “Bhakti Tribe”.  Human released the studio album “Naked” featuring his hit songs “Naked” “Soul Revival” and “Don’t Blame Me I Voted For Willie Nelson.”  While touring Hawai’i in 2005 Human picked up soul singer Elana Cydney (Maui Groove Tribe), shredding guitar rocker Pit Steffan from Germany, and partner veteran backup vocalist Shasta Steffan.  The most recent members of the band, legendary Mendocino Coast sound engineer Peter Temple (Rhythmistics) on bass, and veteran drummer David Sinclair (Gardener, The Blue Dot) and Big Island fiddlinist Adele Wynn (Peacetribe), complete the core of the band’s groove, as they spread the vibes of unconditional love, responsibility, and hope.

The Human Revolution often invites special guests and emcees to join in the musing.  In 2006 the band had a successful tour of Maui and released the live album “Acoustic Alive on Maui,” and the recently released studio album Breathe (2007) is already receiving great critical acclaim.

The Human Revolution is about bringing an important message of awareness to the masses hidden in the fun and infectious world-beat and Americana style tunes. Sometimes focusing on themes difficult to discuss in everyday life, such as genocide and other political atrocities, they force the listeners to think while

grooving in a transcendental state of ecstatic dance and always leave them with positive solutions to ponder. Human’s catchy, soulful mantras leave listeners singing and humming his tunes for weeks to come!
